The Todo/wish list

If we’re lacking something, list it here. If you finish something off, please move it to the Completed section, and feel free to have a brag. :-) Some stuff can only be done by an admin, but it’s still listed here to act as a reminder.

Incidentally, this stuff isn’t ranked in any particular order.

General TODO

  • Define standard namespaces
  • Document user account system
  • Change Memtest86 to be only about Memtest86+
  • Vista Section

Forum sticky -> wiki process

One of the main reasons for setting up the wiki was to remove the plethora of stickies. We have so many that they tend to become part of the scenery, and be ignored. Any assistance in this would be greatly appreciated.

If you complete something, please move it to the appropriate done section and link to the new wiki page, but retain the link to the thread, as per Broadband example, so that the sticky can be retrieved easily if needed for whatever reason. Please use namespaces where they exist. If you’re unsure as to how to use namespaces, have a read of http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:namespaces and Namespace structure.

There’s a lot of work here, especially something like the Essential Hardware knowledge guide - there’s a lot of obsolete material, and some substantial refactoring may be required.

Possibly Do

  • Write page guidelines? For instance, the first heading on a page will be used as the title of the page, ergo a decent first heading is a good thing. (Incidentally, what do people think of this behaviour?) Stuff like using sigs in discussions, etc. (That’s wiki sigs, btw, last button on right when editing.)
  • Change newline behaviour? Currently a newline acts like a newline in HTML - it’s ignored. Do we want this, or do we want newline to be converted to <br/>?
  • Explore customising look of wiki?
  • New favicon

Completed

  • Install Creole plugin
  • Creole plugin issue with bold has now been resolved, via a nasty, nasty hack in the parser.
  • Install bbCode plugin (done, but fails to work, see bbCode)
  • Create ACL levels
  • Add mod_rewrite rules to prettify URI
  • Edit buttons now emit correct markup.
  • Namespace index plugin installed
  • bbCode plugin fixed
  • Formatting syntax page refactored
  • Spellchecker installed.
  • Add new page plugin installed.
